Real Neat Blog Award

It’s been a long time since I’ve done anything, let alone awards and since I have been absent for a long time now, I think it might be okay to a come back.

Recently (quite back) the blogger from Dear Kitty nominated me for the Real Neat Blogger Award. Yayayay!

4. What is your favorite quote? I don’t have a favorite. However, the one that is on my mind right now is from a poem, “I am the master of my fate, I’m the captain of my soul”. It is so inspiring.

5. What was your favorite  class when still at school? Eighth, tenth and twelfth have been amazing.

6. Anything you had wished to have learned earlier? I wish that I’d learnt to stand up and speak for myself and be confident and secure about who I am.

7. What musical instrument have you tried to play? Piano.

My nominations are:

Ritu
Erika
Anoop
Rob
Kavya

  1. Name one habit you dislike in yourself.
  2. Where do you live? Name one thing you like about the place.

  4. Rate in order of priority, your desired qualities in potential life partner (or already life partner).

Dragon’s Loyalty Award

Cynic, an original name I made for a dear blogger friend, from The Finicky Cynic has nominated me for the Dragon’s Loyalty Award. This is the first time I’ve received this award, so a double thank you! Just so you know, I like to think of myself as Norberta, the Norwegian Ridgeback.

download

On Googling, I found that The Dragon’s Loyalty Award is an award for the loyal fan/commenter, whether the recipient is a fellow blogger or just a someone who follows and comments regularly.

So, the rules of the award are:

  • Put the award’s logo on your post.
  • Thank the person who nominated you and put a link to their blog.
  • Nominate 15 other bloggers.
  • Let your nominees know you have nominated them.
  • Post 7 facts about yourself.

Facts about myself:

1. I’m actually surprised that I never told this to you before, but I lived in Bhutan till I was 4.
2. When I was 8/9/10, me and my cousin had a Momos eating competition. I ate 19, yet I lost by a very small margin though. It was because my mom was making them and she was tired, so she asked me to lose the challenge. #idealdaughter
3. I attended class nursery twice, once in India and once in Bhutan.
4. I once received 24.5/25 in English and my teacher called my paper ‘flawless’ in front of the entire class. It is my proudest moment.
5. I binge watch OTH and FRIENDS.
6. Bhoppan² (hey there, creepy friends!) propose to go on a road trip to Goa and get a similar tattoo there as a mark of their friendship once they finish with class 12.
7. I painted this.

Ignore the shitty webcam quality.

Starlight Blogger Award

I was nominated by Swati from Light At The End Of The Tunnel for the Starlight Blogger Award, which is a first. Thank you so much Swati. Her Not So Terribly Tiny Tales are phenomenal. You must head to her little corner on the internet and get a glimpse into her artistic soul.

img_0646

The rules of this award are:

  • Thank the giver and link their blog to your post.
  • Answer the 3 questions given to you.
  • Nominate Others.

Swati’s questions are-

1. If ever given a task to write a book, which topic you will hop on to?
Seeing that I’m working on three with absolutely different ideas, I have to say that whatever topic catches my fancy and makes me write is fine with me.

2. How do you define *LIFE*?
I like this quote a lot, “We’re born alone, we live alone, we die alone. Only through our love and friendship can we create the illusion for the moment that we’re not alone.” Does that define life?

3. *Emotions* – How do they guide an existence?
Everything that exists depends on emotions. You are happy, sad, lonely, miserable, cheerful, excited, nervous, scared, confident, enthusiastic, spiteful, guilty, angry or joyous, everything you feel is a part of you. And without you, there is no existence. Nothing exists for you if you’re not there. Emotions, according to me, and invariably, your existence, as without you, nothing is there to last.

My Nominees are:

Ink Mode

Asil

Nirmala

Congratulations all of you! My questions for you are:

  • What do you feel most guilty about?
  • Is there someone who can confide in each and everything? How did you meet?
  • If you could meet me, would you? Why/why not?

I look forward to your responses. All the best!

So, I was nominated for the Blog Tour Award by the beautiful Adi and incorrigibly sarcastic and funny Sophie (so sorry, but I’m not here on June 15, so here it is!) and the Premios Dardos and The Creative Blogger Award by the proud Mumbaikar from Love Expressing. Screen Shot 2015-04-28 at 7.41.29 AM

Q: How does my work differ from others in my genre?

My work has no style, however I tend to bend towards poetry more than anything else. I feel bad if my work is limited to a specific genre, because by categorizing my work, I think I conform my imagination to that sort of writing, which I don’t want to.

Q: How does my writing/creative process work?

I don’t really give a lot of thought to how I write. But I think that mostly it happens at a subconscious level. Because there are times that I need  pen a paper to scribble my thoughts which form a poem, and sometimes I stare at the sheet for hours, trying to put two and two together to form a coherent sentence. So, it’s as they don’t say, 1% perspiration and 99% imagination for me when I write.

Q: Why do I write and create what I do?

It calms me, soothes me. It’s  place that I know won’t not understand me. It’s a projection of who I am. There’s always a piece of me in everythng I write. I want to show that piece to the world. It carves a place for me in this world. Makes me happy to know that my words that are being read by someone, somewhere can make a difference.

Q: What I’m working on at the moment?

Three incomplete stories, two poems and SAT.

The nominees for the award are:

Inga’s Angle: for her beautiful NYC photography.

Anoop: for his encouraging remarks.

Yashika: for her nth award as a blogger 😛

Yoshiko: for her awesome blog.

Congratulations everyone. The rules for this award are:

2. Disclose 7 facts about you.
3. Nominate atleast 15 blogs for the same.

The rules for the Real Neat Blog Award are:

  • Insert the award logo onto your post.
  • Answer the seven questions they asked you.
  • Thank the blogger who nominated you
  • Nominate other bloggers and ask them seven questions (let them know you’ve nominated them!)

The questions are:

1. What personal qualities do you hold most important in your life?
I feel that a person should be confident to stand up for himself. Humility is necessary, because being successful is easy. The biggest challenge after success is shutting up about it.
2. In life, do you think you are putting unnecessary pressure on yourself?
No. I feel that I am hardly putting any pressure on me, and that is worrying me. I’ve become very lackadaisical in the past few months. It’s a recipe for disaster. My parents are doing that for me. And I’m working on that step by step.
3. If there was one message you could give to the world, what would it be?

4. Money v/s Job Satisfaction at the workplace? What holds more importance and why?
A bit of both. As they say, your work is play if it is what you love. So job satisfaction is important. I you love what you work, and you work hard, money is bound to come your way. As the great Ranchordas Shamaldas Chanchad said, “Beta kabil bano kabil, Kamyabi to sali zak mar ke tumhare piche ayegi.” Follow excellence, success will follow you.
5. What is the one thing you would do and the one place you would be if you were invisible?
I’d take a flight to the Mumbai and enter SRK’s home and meet him personally.

Since I receive the award just a few days ago, I won’t have any nominees this time.

Thanks a lot for reading and appreciating my blog,

Akanksha 😀

The Real Neat Blog Award.

Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Kal Ho Naa Ho and Silver Lining Playbooks are my top three. I don’t have a favorite movie, I have favorites.
  2. Do you prefer reading fiction or non-fiction?
I prefer, buy and enjoy fictions. I find non fiction extremely slow and boring, though I’d like to change that.
  3. What made you start blogging?
This is a question that I’ve answered in every award post. Here again: I’d always been a scribbler. I’d keep writing stuff and usually it ended up in the dustbin, so he thought that it’d be better if I put it somewhere crazy, like-minded people to read it (no offence!).
  4. Are you a morning person or a night person?
I’m a mornight person 😛 I have periods of being a specific person. Like, for three months, I’m a night person, staying awake till four or five doing nothing, and for the next three months, I’d wake on five in the morning and exercise. Lately, I’m a sleeper, perpetually drowsy.
  5. What musical instrument would you love to master?
Drums or the piano or guitar or flute.
  6. What’s your happiest childhood memory?
I’ve faint memories of a trip we’d undertaken when I was seven-ish to Dalhousie, Chail and Khajiyaar. It was one of the best times of my life. We gone with our aunt’s family, whose kids were small too, and then it was all enjoyment. We had no phones, laptops anything, and we just talked and talked and had fun. I remember staying in a trailer kind of a thing in front of the woods, and in the morning, our dad took us four children for a walk there early morning and then we returned, everyone was scared that some animal took us. I remember staying at a guest suite, which had two rooms with a common lobby and that there used to be a dog there and he used to scare us to hell, and then early mornings, we could see the mountain peaks from the lobby in the beautiful sunlight and have Maggi. Those were good days. It was one of the best times of my life.
  7. What’s your favorite color?
    Blue. All shades.

The nominees for this award are:
